Summer Harvest Festival in Hobbiton was an unforgettable experience that surpassed all our expectations.
We had previously visited Hobbiton, but this time was different and much more exciting. The tour was during the summer season, and the weather was perfect for exploring the picturesque landscape.

The Tour
Laurence, our guide for the tour, was a true expert in the field. He was incredibly passionate about the movie set we were visiting, and it showed in every detail he shared with us. From the moment we got on the bus to the moment we arrived at the set, Laurence’s enthusiasm was contagious. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable, making us feel comfortable and excited about the experience.

Frodo: You’re late.
Gandalf: A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
On The Bus

On the bus ride to the set, Laurence shared fascinating details about creating the twelve-acre site.
He told us about the crew’s challenges while building the set and how they overcame them. He pointed out where the actors’ trails would sit and where their equipment would be stored and shared other exciting facts.
His attention to detail and ability to recall information was genuinely astonishing.
At the Movie Set

Once we arrived at the movie set, Laurence escorted us through the essential passages of the movies and explained how they were made.
He showed us the intricate details of the set design and how everything came together to create the final product we saw on the big screen. His wealth of information and fascinating insights about the film were impressive. We were amazed at his ability to remember everything and his expertise.

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
— Frodo
The Highlights of the Tour
The brand new, intricately designed Hobbit hole was one of the tour’s highlights.
Step through the magical entrance and be transported to an enchanting corridor filled with wonder and delight.

It was built by 50 different experts over eight months, and every detail was so precisely executed that it looked like the ones from the movies.

The charm of the Hobbit hole was so captivating that a young kid visiting with his parents expressed his desire to move in and live there. We felt the same way, and the magic of the place captured our hearts.

“I made a promise, Mr Frodo. A promise. “Don’t you leave him Samwise Gamgee.” And I don’t mean to. I don’t mean to.”
— Sam, The Fellowship of the Ring
The Festival at the Green Dragon

As the tour concluded, we went to the Green Dragon, where we found a lively and welcoming festival with live music and delicious food. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, and we enjoyed every moment. It was a perfect way to end an extraordinary experience at Hobbiton.

Overall, the Summer Harvest Festival was an incredible experience that combined entertainment, education, and hospitality in a way that exceeded our expectations. We will always cherish the memories of this magical place.
“Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.”
— Galadriel, The Fellowship of the Ring
