Where to find the Botanic Garden
The Botanic Gardens is located in the heart of Christchurch — The Garden City. It’s located at Waipapa. Waipapa is the name of the area along the Ōtākaro–Avon River where the Gardens are located.
About the Garden
It was founded in 1863. English oak was planted to commemorate the wedding of Prince Albert and Princess Alexandra of Demark. After the garden grew over 51 acres of land, the botanic garden has a variety of native plants from New Zealand. One of the primary missions is to protect the heritage and cultural values of New Zealand.

The Christchurch Botanic Gardens is stunning. You can run or stroll and visit the several collections of gardens available. But it’s not only flowers you can find here. There are several conservatories, a coffee shop, and a gift store.

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.

Lupin flowers at this time of the year (November) are picturesque in Takapō Lake.

I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.

I found a mosaic chair and its ottoman at Daffodil Woodland. Symbolizes that what is broken can be fixed. See my blog Kia Ora, where I mention the earthquake of 2011

I hope you like these fantastic flowers. I have to agree with Joseph Campbell when he says:” the goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature. ”
