New Brighton Beach

New Brighton Beach is long

About New Brighton Beach

It is a very pleasant little town, quite like any New Zealand town.

The mall street.

This beach is an 18-kilometer (11 miles) sandy beach comprised of South New Brighton, New Brighton, and North New Brighton. The sand is dark and thick. It remains the beach in Busan, South Korea, where I used to run with my military unit. The sandy floor is sturdy and so much easier to run.

The original pier was made of wooden construction, opened on 18 January 1894, and was pulled down in October 1965. This new pier is around 700 feet long.

The water was not freezing, a bit cold, but even like that, people were having fun in the water.

The pleasure of being on the beach

This beach doesn’t have many rocks and seashell fragments covering the beaches. It seems this beach has no drastic slope. It looks flat. Maybe it’s why there are no huge waves.

I like to sit and stare at the waves. It lifts my mood and makes me feel safe. It’s like it cleans my mental clutter. The sound of the seagulls and the waves calm and give me a state of serenity. Scientifically, being at the beach will decrease your blood pressure and stress hormones. It’s also proven that salt and minerals in the ocean water soothe the aching pain, and I notice that they accelerate the healing of scrapes on my skin. Come and try it yourself!

Always Live Loud was at the beach…

The ocean’s roar is music to the soul
