How to get there

To reach this beautiful beach, you’ll start your journey on Normans Access Road, which gracefully winds through a beautiful forestry commission area. At the end of the road, you’ll find a car park. Please note that the road is gravel, which may pose challenges for some vehicles.

Once parked, embark on a hike of approximately 20-30 minutes to the beach. The trail includes steep inclines and is potentially slippery, so watching your step is essential, especially where fallen trees cross the path. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring some snacks and drinks!

The hike is well worth the effort; although it can be steep and tricky, you’ll be surrounded by a beautiful green forest. Along the way, you may spot various birds, adding to the natural beauty. This peaceful trek allows you to connect with nature and enjoy a well-deserved escape.

Arriving to the beach

Upon your arrival, you’ll uncover the hidden gem of Hokohino Beach, located in a peaceful bay embraced by a lush, vibrant forest that creates a serene and picturesque atmosphere.

The water here is crystal clear, pleasantly warm, and inviting, perfect for a refreshing swim.

This secluded beach offers an exclusive experience, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty without the disturbance of overwhelming crowds.

The cave passage

At the beach’s southern end, striking rock formations provide an exhilarating spot for jumping into the water. Accompanying these rocks is a mysterious cave that veers slightly inland, leading to the other side of the rock barrier. Be sure to watch the tide, as it can change quickly and affect the accessibility of the cave and jumping spots.
