Shag Rock Beach, Rapanui

This beach has a road for runners and bikers along the shore. The view was beautiful, but there was nowhere to stop to take a decent picture of the coast.

I came to this beach to photograph the sunset. I guess the universe was not in agreement with me. There were no beautiful sky colors, but I still got decent pictures. Maybe next time.

“To escape and sit quietly on the beach – that’s my idea of paradise.”

While sitting on this beach and taking in a positive energy, I was thinking about many things and remembered this poem.

I stand in silence
Reaching with my eyes
MyGod - you are beautiful
I love the way you fall
Softly losing space
I follow you down
As you paint the sky
In your leaving
I wish we could so confidently
follow our heats~
Leaving only ripples of light
In our wake
My secret lover
I want you only to myself
How many times
Have I come here
With my sorrow
You lift me up
In your fall

Let’s practice coming to the beach to declutter our brains and detox from technology, at least just for a little bit.

“Nothing soothe the soul like a sunset on the beach.”

The sunset light was hitting the rocks…

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Even though the sunset was not spectacular colors, which New Zealand is known for, I think I could capture the beauty of this beach.

J.R.R. Tolkien

Foam is white and waves are grey; Beyond the sunset leads my way.
