🫵My Thoughts:
Ōamaru is such a delightful city that I can never get enough of visiting! Its charming Victorian architecture always captures my heart, and there’s just so much to do.

I also love checking out the Steampunk Museum right in the city center. It’s a unique spot where I can immerse myself in a fascinating blend of art, science, and creativity from the Victorian era. Taking a stroll along Harbour Street is always a treat, too! The street is lined with beautifully preserved Victorian buildings, quirky little shops, and cozy cafés that are perfect for kicking back and relaxing.

If you’re a penguin lover, you’re in for a treat! You can watch the adorable blue penguins come back from their day at sea in the evening. It’s such a delightful sight to see them waddling back to their nests, and it really creates a magical atmosphere. Enjoy the cuteness!

If you’re into art, the Grainstore Gallery is a must-visit! It showcases amazing pieces from talented local New Zealand artists. And you can’t forget about Whitestone City! It’s a great place to learn about the region’s fascinating history while enjoying its stunning heritage architecture.
The Steampunk Festival in June is one of my favorite highlights of the year, featuring fantastic costumes, live performances, and fun workshops that celebrate this imaginative subculture. Then, later in November, I get excited about the Ōamaru Heritage Celebration, which brings the community together to honor the city’s rich history with lively events, music, and delicious local food.
Every visit is a new adventure, and I absolutely treasure the memories I make in this vibrant city!
